Has anybody else been having the same problem I have been, about it coming up with a message about being down for maintenance or is it just me?

OK, here's the deal:

I host websites. But because I had this crazy idea of serving videos off of STS, I decided to move the hosting over to a "Big" host (godaddy) and chew up their bandwidth instead of my own.

Mistake.

Over the past two weeks they have been throwing repeated errors and screwing up all kinds of things, and since I don't have direct access to the servers it has been a nightmare to fix things and keep it running. So I decided to move the site back to my servers.

While I was transferring things, I had up a "maintenance" page. Since the domain name server just finally updated today, it is possible that you might still end up bouncing back and forth between the old and new servers, and if you hit the old one it will show you the maintenance page. This should be totally cleared out over the next 24 hours.

In the meantime, the mail component didn't seem to survive the move, but that's OK because it sucked anyway, so it is going to be replaced. The video server currently will just take you to a blank page, and I will decide what I am going to do with that in the next day or so.

Sorry for the pauses/delays but this is a good time of the year to break things, since no one is really on here right now anyway.

Looks like there are a couple of other things I need to straighten out as well, for example the arcade isn't working right and the forum is listing some odd things as far as when the last time someone visited was.

OK, I was up to about 3AM last night tracking down the reason for the long delays loading up a page. You'd click on a forum page and it would take sometimes as long as 30 seconds for the server to even respond.

Got that straightened out, and have the page creation times down from 15-30 seconds to .3 to 2 seconds, depending on what it is and server load. So I am a lot happier with that.

Ok, I have now also FINALLY gotten an updated private messaging system in place. It actually will send a message in less than 5 minutes, without bugging code all over the page! Yee ha! It will also alert you immediately when you sign in that you have a message, right in your login pane.

OK, I have been doing a lot of updating on the back end, fixing a huge number of issues that were either just outdated code, or things that got broken in the server move.

Coming today: a forum upgrade. May break everything. Luckily no one does anything in here anyway.

It's hard to be able to do anything when the website is down lol That will be nice to see a new forum upgrade.
