I went to Mokan this weekend to get an actual time slip on a quarter mile run. My quarter mile time on my profile had always been "calculated". I now have proof of my quarter mile times. I was off a whole hundredth of a second. 8.53 @ 157 mph. I was a little amazed of how long it takes to get to the end of a quarter. I have gotten so use to 1/8 mile racing, those last 3 seconds take for ever. It really didn't seem like Mokan has much more shutdown room than OIR. The main difference is in the "Ohshit" scenerio there is a field to drive through, then a ditch, road, ditch more field, maybe a couple of fences. OIR has sand, big bales, nets, grand canyon with tree tops. I would truely hate to go off either. I had originally planned to go to OIR on Sat. and do some test and tune, and shoe Flying Hillbilly into the altered, (mainly just to hear him giggle like a little school girl). Looks like we may have to wait till the weather gets warmer for that. I've been having problems with it yanking both tires out of the beams and getting me a red light. That was some thing it did inconsistantly and was hard to predict. At Mokan, this was not a problem. It yanked them way out of the beams each time keeping the front about 10-12 inches in the air and riding the wheelie bars. YEE HAW!! I'm still going to add about 20 pounds of weight to the front end and try to keep it on the ground.
