so i take it that there was a big turnout? i was planning on coming, but the guy who owns the 280zx we were bringing got a staph infection in his knee and was hospitalized we didn't get to show. i went by yesterday to take him all my urban hillbilly videos, but they told me he had gone home. so that's good news, it's also good news that the midnights are a hit, and i bet wes will keep it rolling next year, very cool. nice job on getting this all started guys.

It actually might have been a little TOO big. There were tons and tons of cars there.

And FH: I lugged that damned intercooler all the way out there and you didn't show! I couldn't race with it in my trunk so I just left it on the ground, luckily nobody ran off with it.

Saturday the best I did was 13.32 at 103.

Both on motor and bottle I seem to have pulled about 4/10ths off my time. That is almost entirely in the launch. The last 200 feet or so of track now I feel like I am running out of motor, whereas used to be all of my speed was in the 2nd half of the track.

I take that as a good thing.

Well I think I am going to go back to a taller tire, to trade back just a touch of low end for some more speed. The car seems to be running out of oomph at the end of the track. (Ask slwmaro about that).

That sucks your running out of oomph at the end of the track what size of tires do you plan on going with?

That run against you I crossed the line in 13.5ish at 105 mph. The run against Slwmaro I crossed at 13.3 at 103mph. He crossed at 106 so that last 300 foot or so was me watching him close the gap at a steady 3 mph.

So you can see that I have moved my acceleration to closer to the start line than the finish line. And I can tell you that getting run down is NO fun at all. Normally if I hit 2nd and I am ahead that's the way the race ends. Not so that time.

I am running a tire that is slightly small right now, my final gear ratio is 3.90. I think I'll go back to "factory" size which will take me to 3.73 and try to recover some of that top end.

Yeah, that is also the way of the LS1 also though. Top end all the way. Plus, you might as well say you crossed and 104 and I crossed at 107. It was fun though, and was glad you could run with me. Like I said, I love winning and HATE losing, but seeing you win was pretty damned cool.

It was way too close for comfort. I think I am going to demand a partial refund from the guy I paid to break your clutch.
