Actually the Ozark drag strip is a great place, mostly because you can get direct access to the owner, and the people that work there. It has a "small town" feel to it but at the same time they are professional enough to pull off some great races.
One thing they do very well is patience with new racers. When some guy doesn't know how to stage, or when to pull up, etc, they never shake heads or get angry. I also appreciate the fact that they have people who clearly guide the different elements of getting to the track. One to tell which lanes to go, one to direct people to stage, and one to get cars on the line.

You are right. I have raced there quite a few times, and I still get excited at the lights. Once in a great while forgetting to wait for him to tell me to stage and just rolling on up to the lights. Patience the seem to have plenty of. People aregreat there also, racers I mean. 99% of the time they are personable and willing to help any way they can.

Sounds like an awesome track...unfortunately I'm a little too far away to enjoy it.

I totally agree, and it makes a big difference when your new to the sport. My kids will learn to drag race there soon.
My first time drag was in Chicago at Route 66 back in 98 on a test & tune night. That place had no patience with noobs. But then again it got so packed, 3 passes would be considered an above average night.
Think they'll ever bring back the RPM event or something similar? That was a great time, and a great idea to introduce people to the sport. We brought a lot of fist timers out to that.
For those that don't know what that was. Not sure what the RPM stood for but they had a few local bands on a stage and some stunt motocross talent jumping over it. Had a jet car. Great times for first timers. All free event. Not sure who picked up the tab on that.

I would think at this point that Wes would be open to ANY suggestions. The past year at the track was very very slow.
