Hillbilly or Monstercarlo... 4 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 9
How hard is it to replace the CPS (Crank Position Sensor) on my Van ?!

Im doing more research but everyone that is having the same problems as I am, says it was the CPS that was the problem...

Everyone says its like $60-$80 to have someone do it.. I thought I would just do it myself, if its not that hard...

thanks!

most of those vans have the cps that just bolts in from the top of the bellhousing and picks up signal from the flywheel. you should call dodge and see if it's one of the ones that you had to stick the little felt dot to the end of the sensor to space it correctly. the tps should just be two screws on the side of the throttle shaft, it's cake unless it needs adjusted.

1994 Plymouth Grand Voyager
3.3 Liter V6 AWD

Feels like it has a dead spot in the throttle..
like around 30% to 60% throttle you might as well be at idle...

sometimes I think I can even hear it backfire when you let back off the gas.. but I could be wrong..

And about every other day, it is hard to start in the morning..

ok, the tps is held on by two screws at the end of the throttle shaft, and there is no adjustment required, so you should be able to change that no sweat. the cps is the type that has to have the little stick on spacer to be installed correctly. you get them from dodge, stick them on, then bolt the sensor on with the spacer touching the flywheel, and that's it. cps is located in the bellhousing btw.

I took the TPS out, and took it to AutoZone, they tested it, and said it was bad..

(wouldnt turn the both little lights on or off) depending which test you were doing..

so I bought another one... $47 bucks ! and installed it..

I will see if that fixes it or not..

Dear Santa
All I want for Christmas is two well prepped lanes and the folks that gather there each week. Being close to home and dry on summer Fridays would be a bonus.
