That's something I should do to mine too, what with 14 years and 120K miles.

The bushings were not just craked they were tore into and yes they were the good polyeurthane ones lakewood in fact two of the ones on the drivers side were wasted but no big deal found out the clutch plates were burnt in rear end as things worked out got a new spool for the price of plates WOOOHOOOOO around three hundred cheeper then fixed the damn thing with about 60 bucks worth of bushings. Now I just hope that this will help my time a bit might just do the trick OH yes bushings were about 10 months old

I ran with a spool in my DD for a couple years, as long as your rearend is ok, and you dont mind eating tires up a little quicker it is fine. Thing is Mark, is that both tires are locked together all the time. Going around corners the tires can spin at different rates, so the inside one barks a bunch. As long as your rearend holds up, and your Dad can put up with it he will be fine. Tony, if you tear these bushings up again that quick, you might consider some aluminum bushings. They make a little more noise, and a little stiffer, but hard to tear up.

James is dead on. The biggest thing I hated when I had one is steering. If you go into a turn too hard be damn careful because it will cause the car to push the front wheels, like riding a 4 wheeler. Other than that and what James mentioned, they're not too bad.
